Vienna gets new glamour: Private Members Club The Cover” opens its doors!
Something is happening in Vienna in the area of private members clubs. “The Cover” is a new hotspot for creative people and entrepreneurs, which will soon open at Am Hof 8. Myriel Walter, Global Director of the Sircle Collection, brings a breath of fresh air to the local club scene, which has so far had a weak standing in this country compared to metropolises like London. “The Cover” is not just a club for the elite, but a place that promotes community and creativity.
The opening was originally planned for 2027, but construction work is already in full swing. 22 hotel rooms have been completely renovated and all permits have already been obtained - the investment has proven to be an important element here. The concept also shows a proven success story from Barcelona and will also be available in London and Amsterdam in the future. The goal? A space where people can come together, network and develop ideas together.
Membership and its price
For all those who feel addressed: Membership in “The Cover” costs around 170 euros per month, plus a registration fee of 550 euros. Members can look forward to a variety of offers - from co-working spaces and fitness facilities to events and a private cinema hall, although there is a charge for use. The exclusive club culture is no coincidence - in Vienna, Walter believes, there is still a lot of potential to further establish the system of private members clubs.
In comparison, there is the private members club “Am Hof 8”, run by Johannes Kattus. Membership fees are significantly higher here: 150 euros per month plus a registration fee of 3,500 euros. The club already has over 600 members, but Kattus has imposed a freeze on membership until the end of the year. In his opinion, the need for such clubs is growing in Vienna, which is reinforced by the personal touch and the location of the clubs.
Life in a private members club
What makes life in a private members club special? It's the exclusive atmosphere and the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people. Members often apply themselves or are suggested by existing members. A strictly regulated selection process ensures that only the most suitable candidates are accepted. Criteria such as contribution to the community and sense of responsibility are the focus here.
“The Cover” wants to increase acceptance for clubs in Vienna. There will not only be networking opportunities, but also the opportunity to start your own initiatives such as salon evenings or mentoring programs. The strict privacy rules ensure that members can move around in a protected space - social media guidelines and photography bans are part of the concept.
In the context of a city like Vienna, which harmoniously combines tradition and modern approaches, “The Cover” seems to have the potential to open a new chapter in the city’s club history. Amidst imperial palaces and hidden courtyards, we experience the symbiosis of old and new - the perfect setting for a dynamic creative community.
Whether “The Cover” is the right recipe for Vienna remains to be seen, but the signs are good. With a clear focus on community, creativity and an engaging environment, the club could have a lasting impact not only for its members, but also for the entire city. It will be exciting to see how the club landscape will develop in the coming years.
