Brezina reveals secrets of the body: A book for young and old
On November 4, 2025, the well-known children's and young adult author Thomas Brezina invited people to the presentation of his new book “What your body would say if it could speak” in the Vienna City Hall. As part of a health initiative that was launched together with the City of Vienna and MedUni Vienna, Brezina stayed with four school classes from his home district of Liesing and imparted knowledge about the human body to them in a playful way. The author, who has also achieved great fame through his works such as “Tintifax”, “Knickerbocker Gang” and “Tom Turbo”, impressively emphasizes the importance of health awareness and prevention.
The newly published book, which was published by “edition a”, comprises 208 pages and is described as a colorfully illustrated medical explanatory book. The content was checked for scientific validity in collaboration with Michael Fischer, head of the Institute of Physiology at MedUni Vienna. The book clearly explains how the human body works and gives useful tips for promoting health, such as getting enough exercise, getting enough sleep, avoiding smoking and alcohol, reducing sugar and laughing every day.
An interactive experience for students
At the book presentation, Brezina had numerous questions ready to arouse the students' interest and actively involve them. In his speech, Mayor Michael Ludwig underlined the importance of strong health awareness, while MedUni Rector Markus Müller made it clear that the book was based on the principles of prevention. “Did you know that our body is made up of around 30 trillion cells?” Brezina asked in one of his units. Such exciting facts are intended to show young readers how important it is to take care of your own body.
The book looks at key topics about body health in an entertaining, friendly way. At a time when health is becoming an increasingly relevant topic, Brezina's work could not only expand the knowledge of those reading it, but also contribute to improving the quality of life - and this also has a positive impact on our healthcare system.
A market full of possibilities
The topic of health and education is now also making waves in the publishing world. If you are looking for more educational children's titles, you will find, for example, defective copies of books that are slightly damaged but do not restrict reading in any way. It should be noted that these copies are marked with a stamp and that the previous fixed book price has been lifted. Price reductions refer to the fixed price of a defect-free copy. Providers have started to adjust the price structure and label their products accordingly so that readers always have the best overview.
By encouraging interested readers from an early age, Brezina not only aims to remove the fear of learning, but also introduce a fresh approach to health education. It remains to be hoped that his new book will reach a wide audience in Vienna and beyond and help raise health awareness among young and old.
