Vienna is celebrating: Oldest Hotel Stefanie is planning a bright future!
In Vienna there is an institution that has stood for hospitality for centuries: Das Hotel Stefanie. Founded in 1600 as the “Weiße Rose”, it is the oldest hotel in the city and a true jewel in the Austrian hotel industry. Under the management of the Schick family for four generations, it will soon undergo an exciting realignment.
Alexander Schick will take over the management of the traditional company from his father Martin Schick in September 2025. With a breath of fresh air in his luggage, the young entrepreneur plans to lead the hotel into the future with gentle innovations. “I want to preserve the heritage and at the same time provide new impetus,” says Schick about the further plans for the hotel and the entire Schick Hotels Group, which includes a total of five hotels in Vienna.
An anniversary with a view
On November 4th, 2025, Hotel Stefanie will celebrate a special anniversary. In addition to the official handover, there will be a get-together with friends and partners of the house. The invited guests include prominent representatives from business and the hotel industry, including names such as Christian Ackerle, Sascha Dimitriewicz and Armin Egger. “It is important to us to share this special moment with all of our companions,” Alexander Schick continued.
The Schick Hotels Group is not only known for its historic past, but also for its committed employees. Around 170 people work here and ensure that guests feel comfortable every day. The mix of tradition and innovation makes Schick Hotels an interesting player in the domestic tourism landscape.
From the White Rose to the Schick Hotels Group
Over the years, the Hotel Stefanie has earned a first-class reputation and enjoys great popularity. The Schick Hotels Group offers five four-star hotels, two restaurants and event rooms in Vienna that can be used for various occasions. All of this in an environment that is traditionally influenced and at the same time meets modern requirements.
The upcoming anniversary not only represents a look back at 425 years of guest experience, but also an outlook on the future development of the hotel and its sister hotels. A nice occasion to highlight the success story of the Hotel Stefanie and the visions of Alexander Schick.
It is clear again and again: In Vienna, tradition and innovation are close together - and the Hotel Stefanie will continue to play an important role in this exciting mix in the future.
