Bratislava on two wheels: Discover the city of contrasts!

Bratislava, the charming capital of Slovakia, delights with its contrasts. Here baroque meets socialism and modern art in a distinctive ambience. The city has a lot to offer - ideal for a short trip to explore by bike, according to a recent report by Bike magazine shows.

The bike tour starts at Petržalka train station, which is located in the largest prefab housing estate in Europe. From here, visitors cycle through the city and past impressive buildings such as the brutal-style Slovak Radio Building and the lively Nova Tržnica market hall. A special highlight is the stop in the old town with its picturesque cobblestones and inviting cafés, including the traditional Café Mayer, where Maria Theresa celebrated after her coronation.

Sights and culinary delights

On the second day, the route leads to Bratislava Castle, the proud landmark of Bratislava. From here there is a breathtaking view over the city and the Danube. Another highlight of the visit is St. Martin's Cathedral, the coronation church of Hungarian kings, where there is even a choir rehearsal. A wine tasting in a cozy cellar restaurant also offers the opportunity to enjoy wines from the artistic region of the Little Carpathians.

On the third day it is worth taking a bike trip to the innovative Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, which impresses not only with its location on a peninsula, but also with its impressive architectural design, which is modeled on a Roman galley. Inside, visitors can expect changing exhibitions by international artists, while the adjacent 8,000 square meter park with sculptures invites you to linger.

The culinary highlights continue in Bratislava with a visit to the Pasteleria, where the famous cream cake promises a real taste experience. Thanks to the variety of restaurants such as Restaurant Parliament and Modrá Hviezda, there is something for every taste.
