Art highlight in Hernals: Grätzel.Art.Days inspire millions!
The “Grätzel.Kunst.Tage” in Hernals attract attention at the weekend. From June 12th to 15th, the area around Dornbacher Straße to Josef-Kaderka Park was transformed into a true art paradise. With a diverse program and free admission, the organizers enabled visitors to immerse themselves in the works of over 30 local artists from Dornbach, Neuwaldegg and Hernals. A special highlight was the closing party at Rupertusplatz, which took place on Sunday, June 15th.
The event was launched by the “Dornbach and Neuwaldegg colorful” initiative, with the support of the city of Vienna, the Hernals district, the Grätzeloase and local companies. District leader Peter Jagsch (SPÖ) did not miss the opportunity to emphasize the importance of this event for the community. He emphasized that such events promote a strong sense of community and bring art into people's everyday lives.
What did the art festival offer visitors? Every day from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., people could look forward to pop-up exhibitions, live concerts, impressive live street art performances, workshops and improvisational theater. Of course, physical well-being was also taken care of. Numerous stalls offered a selection of delicious food and refreshing drinks to complete the cultural experience.
An event that brings people together
The Grätzel.Kunst.Tage were more than just a festival – they were an opportunity to celebrate artistic creation in the region. The different activities enabled residents and visitors to talk to each other and experience the diversity of art. It was a platform on which both established artists and young talents had the chance to present themselves.
To make the experience even more varied, there were also guided tours of the Grätzel, which brought visitors closer to the art scene in the area. These tours were a big plus and helped to strengthen the connection with the artists. Despite all the art and culture, the fun wasn't left behind - the children's program was particularly popular.
Promote culture
Culture is very important in Vienna. This is evident not only at the Grätzel.Kunst.Tage, but also at other cultural events that enliven the city and its districts. For example, on the residential street of the Matzner district, a lively market is supported by performances by local groups and musicians. The goal is clear: visitor traffic should be increased and maintained so that Vienna's cultural wealth remains accessible to everyone. The initiators of the Grätzel.Kunst.Tage and other events work closely with institutions such as the local music school ZMV 14 to offer young talent a stage.
The success of the Grätzel.Kunst.Tage could serve as a template for future events. The relaxed atmosphere and the extensive program are a prime example of how you can bring people interested in art together and strengthen the neighborhood.
