Austria celebrates a narrow 1-0 win against Stripfing in scorching heat!
What an exciting football game! SK Austria Klagenfurt scored an important win against SV Stripfing today in scorching temperatures of over 30 degrees. Compared to the last meeting with the Young Violets, which the Klagenfurt team lost 2-3, the coach made some adjustments to the starting lineup. Nik Marinsek and Michael Lang were new, while Rei Okada was initially placed on the bench. Florian Jaritz was missing from the players due to illness. SK Austria Klagenfurt reports.
The defense line around captain and goalkeeper Manuel Kuttin consisted of Mario Matkovic, Marco Gantschnig and Aidan Liu. In midfield, Lang and Elias Jandrisevits provided the wings, while Marinsek, Almir Oda and Marcel Krnjic played centrally. Marc Andre Schmerböck and Bartol Barisic provided the offensive danger.
A hard-fought match
In the first half, both teams struggled to create clear chances. Barišic in the 6th minute and Marinsek in the 11th minute failed to find the target, and opportunities from Dario Kreiker and Gabryel Monteiro also went unused. The game picked up pace in the second half. Kreiken's free kick in the 47th minute narrowly missed the target, and there was a contentious scene in the 48th minute when Kuttin Dari cleared Jo Pecirep in the penalty area - but the referee decided to continue play.
In the 61st minute, it was Schmerböck who put his team 0-1 ahead with a counterattack after Marinsek had failed shortly before at SV keeper Jonas Überbacher. Klagenfurt remained stable defensively and continued to impress going forward: Schmerböck and Matkovic subsequently had further chances, but left them unused.
Change and stability
In the 86th minute, Sebastian Pschernig came on for Schmerböck, followed by Dino Delic, who replaced Barisic in the 90th minute. Matteo Kitz and Rei Okada came on for Jandrisevits and Oda in stoppage time. Despite the heated conditions, the Carinthians confidently maintained their narrow lead over time. Klagenfurt celebrates the victory.
After the game, the team will return to Waidmannsdorf. The next exciting match in the ADMIRAL 2nd league is already approaching: on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. we will play against Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz. Tickets are available from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the office, and also around the clock in the online shop.
