Last weekend, more precisely on August 8, 2025, an exciting table tennis event took place at Vienna's Rathausplatz. The aim was to get people moving, create encounters and simply experience the joy of sport.
The table tennis table was set up right next to the “Wiener Herzerlbaum” and participation was free, which attracted a large number of Viennese from different districts such as Simmering, Ottakring, Floridsdorf and Donaustadt. However, it extended far beyond the city limits: players from Klagenfurt and Lower Austria also experienced a sporting day in the heart of the city. The participation of the youngest visitors was particularly pleasing, as they even took part in a small “up to 11” competition. The table tennis event was not only a sporting highlight, but also a harmonious combination of its culinary offerings and the cultural program of the current film festival. It was a great opportunity to combine sport and socializing in a beautiful atmosphere.
