Moritz Wels moves to WSG Tirol on loan – new perspectives for U21 star!

WSG Tirol has secured the services of Moritz Wels on the transfer market. The 20-year-old midfielder is moving to Wattens on loan from FK Austria Wien in order to gain more match practice in the coming season. This reports Laola1.

Wels, who only moved to the “Veilchen” from SK Sturm Graz in the summer of 2023, has already made 25 appearances in the Bundesliga and the ADMIRAL 2nd League for young people, including twelve league games last season for Austria Vienna. He also made eleven appearances for the farm team SF Stripfing, which plays in the 2nd league, which underlines his flexibility and commitment.

A talented newcomer

Stefan Köck, the WSG sports manager, is convinced of Wels’ footballing abilities. He emphasizes that Wels has valuable experience in U-national teams, where he currently represents the U21 team. Köck describes him as a talented reinforcement and is sure that Wels will have a positive influence on the team. In an interview, Wels was also pleased about the move and emphasized that the club's development plan convinced him.

Moritz Wels' contract with Austria Vienna runs until 2026, which suggests that the “Veilchen” want to focus on the player's long-term development. With this loan to WSG Tirol, both sides have the opportunity to benefit from each other: Wels should develop further with match practice, while WSG has a talented player available who will bring a breath of fresh air into the midfield.

With this commitment, WSG Tirol is pursuing a clear strategy to position itself better in the championship race and hopefully celebrate further successes. Fans and players can look forward to an exciting season. And who knows, maybe Wels will cause a stir in the league next season.
