FPÖ and AfD close pact: a commitment to security in favorites!

Favoriten, Österreich - On July 16, 2025, the Vienna FPÖ and the Berlin AfD closed a pact in favorites, which is celebrated as an important step to strengthen the "freedom-conservative renewal". The aim of this cooperation is the long -term structure of a network of like -minded cities in Europe, which deals with pressing political issues. Vienna FPÖ boss Dominik Nepp described the AfD as a reliable partner to preserve cultural and political identity, and emphasized the need to act together against the challenges of illegal immigration, terrorist threats and increasing crime. These topics were also at the center of the discussions between the two parties.

The agreement includes a variety of important areas such as security, migration, education and living. Regular exchange formats, joint events and citizen dialogues are planned to address the concerns of the citizens directly. "Freedom, order and personal responsibility" should be preceded as a mission statement, according to Deputy Deputy Deputy Christian Schuch, who received the AfD state club in favorites. He emphasized the parallels between the development of the two cities, especially with regard to the problems, crime and immigration. The Viennese Greens expressed sharp criticism of this step and pointed out that the AfD is classified by the German Constitutional Protection as a "secured right -wing extremist", which increases the concerns about cooperation.

challenges of security

The topics related to security and migration are not only in Vienna, but in many European cities. Data from the European security authorities show that right -wing extremist violence and right -wing terrorism are classified as highly threatening. Germany in particular has been shaken by several right -wing extremist attacks in recent years, which raise the question of security for citizens and communities. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, right -wing extremism is the greatest danger to democracy. The racist murders of Hanau in 2020 and the murder of politician Walter Lübcke also show the abysses that are deeply anchored in society.

The figures of terrorist researchers show that between 1990 and 2015 Germany and Sweden recorded most of the right -wing extremist attacks. In addition, security authorities reported an increase in the arrested terrorist suspects, which indicates increased activity within the right -wing extremist scene. In view of these developments, the cooperation agreement between the Vienna FPÖ and the Berlin AfD could be seen as a thought about dealing with these challenges and as an attempt to create a platform for their demands.

The role of society

The social framework conditions that promote the flowering right -wing extremist ideologies are complex. Experts warn that the youth are more susceptible to violent escalations, especially in cliques or in protests. New phenomena such as the "Incel" subculture, which gains visibility through social media, could also lead to further tensions in society. Despite these challenges, many current studies agree that it is difficult to draw a clear statistical context between socio -economic factors and terrorist attacks.

The problems that the FPÖ and the AfD strive for are not only local affairs, but part of a larger European phenomenon. It remains to be seen which steps the two parties will take and to what extent they can put their promises into practice, while they are at the same time encountering social tensions that can arise from their political agendas.
