From 2028, the Vienna hotel landscape will be enriched by another gem: Dorint Hotels & Resorts will open a new hotel called “Dorint Hotel Weitblick Wien” in the newly planned “Weitblick” high-rise building. This project, which is being built in a striking building with a height of 120 meters in the urban development area of Quarter Two, was officially announced on July 10, 2025 by the project developer STRABAG Real Estate. Loud Gault&Millau Dorint will use around a third of the space in the impressive high-rise.
After a 19-year absence, Dorint returns to Vienna with this new location. The rental agreement has a duration of 30 years. Managing director Erwin Größ is optimistic about the collaboration with Dorint and sees great potential in the combination of business and leisure offers. The hotel will be the brand's third in Austria - after Salzburg and Kitzbühel - and thus expands the portfolio of Dorint, which operates a total of over 60 hotels in Germany, Austria and Switzerland STRABAG Real Estate is to be read.
A look at the new building
Construction work on the high-rise, which covers a total area of around 55,000 square meters, will begin in January 2025 with the first foundation work. The hotel will have 298 rooms, including 28 long-stay units, and will be equipped with an all-day dining restaurant, a coffee bar, a shop area and spacious event rooms. Eight event rooms are available to host meetings and events in a stylish ambience.
Another highlight will be the 500 square meter, publicly accessible rooftop bar with a 700 square meter terrace. Here guests can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of Vienna, with views of the Danube, the Kahlenberg, the Prater and the city of Vienna.
Sustainability in focus
The new building will not only offer a modern aesthetic, but also focus on sustainability. An energy center will use renewable resources and provide CO2-free heating and cooling. This means that the hotel will not only be a place for relaxation, but also a pioneer in terms of environmentally friendly technologies. Dorint’s commitment to resource-saving construction and flexible technologies is also reflected in the construction planning. The hotel will be built with an efficient design and sustainable materials, which is a win for both nature and guests.
