Vienna presents future projects at EXPO REAL: Fernbus & Waterfront!
The anticipation for the upcoming EXPO REAL in Munich is increasing rapidly. From October 6th to 8th, 2025, the international real estate trade fair will once again be a platform for pioneering projects and developments. The Vienna location development WSE and the Vienna 3420 aspern Development AG will present several exciting projects that could significantly influence Vienna's urban design. Vienna district newspaper reports that the projects presented include the planned long-distance bus terminal in Vienna and the revitalization of the Otto Wagner area. Both initiatives are of central importance for modern and sustainable urban development.
But that's not all: Wien 3420 will also provide insights into the upcoming developments at Lake Aspern. A new waterfront is being built here, for which construction work will begin in the near future. In this context, information will be provided about the progress in the north of the Seestadt as well as the visions for its future. A highlight of the trade fair will be the expert talk “Vienna makes meters”, which will take place on October 6th at 11:00 a.m. on the Exhibitor Stage, Hall A2. Here Oliver Stribl (Wien Holding), Robert Grüneis (Wien 3420) and the property developer Michaela Mischek-Lainer will discuss the potential and framework conditions of Vienna's urban development.
Vienna attracts investors
Vienna is not only one of the most dynamically growing cities in Central Europe, but is also considered an attractive location for national and international investors. This has already been done from the Vienna press highlighted. The projects presented by WSE and Vienna 3420 underline the city's clear strategy: strong projects and long-term perspectives, which are particularly important in times of climate change and digitalization. Because Vienna has to face these challenges and is required to develop sustainable solutions.
In order to shape this change, UIV Urban Innovation Vienna supports the city departments not only in analysis, but also in the conception and implementation of strategies. This happens in collaboration with various actors and experts who together find new ways for urban development. A wide range of topics, from mobility transition to energy spatial planning to sports developments, are taken into account. Urban innovation shows how important this dialogue is for strategic planning.
Anyone interested can have individual discussions with representatives from WSE and Vienna 3420 throughout the entire trade fair. Vienna therefore remains a hotspot for developments that appeal to both citizens and investors and will make the city sustainable.
