Cultural picnic In the Sky”: A celebration for the whole family!
In August 2025, a very special cultural festival will be celebrated in Vienna that is entirely dedicated to the great composer Johann Strauss. On August 3rd, the cultural festival in the Tree of Life circle “Am Himmel” in Döbling opens its doors. From 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., visitors can look forward to a fascinating program that not only celebrates the sounds of Strauss, but also offers modern influences and diversity. The sound path begins at 9:00 a.m. and offers musical homages that celebrate Strauss' treasures. How meinkreis.at reported, entry is free, but registration is recommended by July 25th.
The festival offers a colorful range of highlights: At 1:10 p.m., music lovers can take part in an exciting live quiz “heard.gewusst” about Strauss. At 2:45 p.m. the ORF RSO Livestream Ensemble will get the listeners swinging with rousing dance music. For those who prefer a humorous touch, there is a cabaret with Viktor Gernot at 3:50 p.m. and the duo Marina & The Kats at 5:10 p.m., combining indie sounds with classic swing. In between, Viennese folk music by Stippich & Uhler creates an excellent atmosphere.
A festival for young and old
The festival's supporting program will offer a variety of attractions: from 12:00 p.m., children can have fun with face painting or take part in an exciting forest tour with the “environmental sleuths”. Visitors can also expect pop-up concerts, artistic interventions and a diverse open-air program. The infrastructure is well equipped, with food trucks and the open octagon restaurant that takes care of your physical well-being. Toilet facilities, including barrier-free options, are also available. How courier.at added, the event will also take place in bad weather, with the exception of thunderstorm warnings.
The special atmosphere of the festival is underlined by the high quality of the events, which mix traditional ostrich romanticism with modern elements. On this occasion, visitors can not only enjoy the wonderful views in Döbling, but also look forward to a family program that is suitable for all ages. The festival is part of a comprehensive celebration of the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss in 2025, for which the city of Vienna is planning a large-scale cultural program. This includes 65 productions and 3 exhibitions taking place at 69 different locations in Vienna. A true feast for the senses, combining both classical concerts and innovative performances, will form the program, which is divided into three pillars, such as johannstrauss2025.at explained.
Be there when Vienna transforms into a cultural center and the tradition of the great Johann Strauss is celebrated. The Am Himmel Tree of Life Circle will be a venue for music, joy and community from August 2nd to 3rd - a festival that definitely shouldn't be missed!
