Condor says goodbye: Last flight of the Boeing 757 on the horizon!

What an era is ending today! After almost three decades, Condor is saying goodbye to the legendary Boeing 757. The last flights of these aircraft are increasingly becoming a nostalgic chapter in the airline's history. Christian Schmitt, COO of Condor, commented on the future of the fleet and promised a smooth transition to the new Airbus fleet. The venerable 757-300 aircraft, which was mainly used on short and medium-haul flights within Europe and to North Africa, will provide a piece of history.

The classic jet not only gave passengers numerous platforms for holiday flights to Mallorca or the beaches of North Africa, but also occasionally served longer international routes. Until the beginning of November 2023, the last seven Boeing 757-300s will still be used in regular flight operations between Germany and popular holiday destinations, as Condor here reports.

The final farewell

The last scheduled flight of the 757-300 will take place between Frankfurt and Hurghada on November 2, 2025. To properly celebrate this special moment, Condor has organized a farewell flight to Vienna on November 5, 2025. 75 tickets for this unique flight will be auctioned starting September 22, 2025, and the return flight will include a very special commemorative event on board.

The last regular flight of the Boeing 757-300 is scheduled for October 29, 2025 on the Düsseldorf-Palma-Düsseldorf route. It is interesting that the Boeing 757-300 was introduced into Condor's fleet as a launch customer in 1996 and the airline operated a total of 18 Boeing 757-200s and nine 757-300s. In September 2025, the average age of the seven operational 757-300s will be an impressive 25.8 years, making the end of an era even more tangible, as Airdatanews describes.

A new wind is blowing

By saying goodbye to the Boeing 757 aircraft, Condor is taking a significant step into the future. By the end of 2025, the airline plans to phase out all 757 models and introduce an all-Airbus fleet. This not only allows Condor to standardize their processes, but also significantly supports their network expansion. The transition is already well underway - the airline completed the renewal of its long-haul fleet with 18 new Airbus A330neo in 2024 and plans to increase this number to a total of 25 models by 2031. In addition, another 43 Airbus A320neo aircraft are expected by 2029.

In a statement, Schmitt explains that this change is a good way to meet the challenges of the future. Condor would like to position itself optimally and also strengthen its intercontinental network by ordering four additional A330-900s. Condor will therefore remain an attractive partner for travelers from all over the world in the future.

The last flights of the Boeing 757-300 are not only the farewell of an aircraft type, but also the beginning of a new era in which Condor will reach high altitudes with fresh Airbus models!
