Book Vienna 2025: Record number of events and exciting debates await!

The anticipation for the Buch Wien 2025 book fair is increasing! From November 12th to 16th, the Vienna Trade Fair will once again be a meeting place for literature enthusiasts. This year a second hall will even be opened to meet growing demand. Last year the trade fair attracted a record-breaking 65,000 visitors and this year too there will be 516 events with 660 participants, reports butterfly.

The new stages will focus on various genres, including a dedicated section for children's and young adult literature as well as the Young & New Adult sections. The program management has changed: Julia Kospach is taking over the role from Günter Kaindlstorfer and plans to enrich the trade fair with socio-political debates and exciting panel discussions. The focus this year is on current topics such as religion, artificial intelligence (AI) and feminism.

Highlights of the opening week

A special highlight will be the opening speech on November 12th by the German-Iranian journalist Shila Behjat. The opening evening is rounded off with a reading by Vea Kaiser, a creative poetry slam night, an interactive New Adult Pub Quiz and a performance by the well-known artist Reyhan Şahin, better known as Lady Bitch Ray. This promises a varied and entertaining program that will arouse great interest.

The ticket prices are also attractive: a day ticket costs 21 euros, the reduced ticket is available for 17 euros, and children and young people up to 13 years of age are allowed in free of charge. This makes the trade fair a great experience for families too.

A new look for the trade fair

There are numerous innovations for the exhibitors. There will be a new café area in Hall C that is only accessible to exhibitors. The stand distribution is already set out in the technical hall plan, and there will even be an interactive hall plan for visitors! If you would like to submit graphic files for logos or stand walls, the deadline is September 22, 2025.

Another practical detail is the fact that there will be an ATM in Hall D for the first time. This makes the stay even more pleasant for everyone involved. Access to the trade fair will be via Foyer D, and the one-way system will ensure guests can move around easily.

This year, the Buch Wien book fair is not only showing creative highlights, but also a varied program that primarily appeals to younger generations who are (re)discovering reading for themselves. The organizers are relying on a colorful mix of presentations, readings and discussions that leave nothing to be desired.

Don't miss this! The Buch Wien book fair offers everyone who is hungry for literature and knowledge a fantastic opportunity to get to know the minds behind the stories and take part in a wave of literary inspiration.
