Roßkestnfest in Klein St. Paul: Culinary delights and music under chestnuts!
The popular 27th Roßkestnfest took place in Klein St. Paul on Saturday. Under the shady horse chestnut tree in front of the Landgasthof Sonnberger, host Walter Sonnberger offered his guests a varied program. The festival attracted not only locals but also numerous visitors from the surrounding area. Sonnberger and his team demonstrated a good knack for organization, conjuring up a feast of culinary delicacies and a cheerful atmosphere.
A highlight was the prize bowling of the WSG Stocksport section, which took place on the well-known “sloping track”. Of course, section leader Thomas Lackner didn't miss the opportunity to demonstrate his skills. Musical entertainment was also not neglected with live music from entertainer Werner Otti. Mayor Gabi Dörflinger and Eberstein's former mayor Andreas Grabuschnig were also warmly welcomed among the numerous guests.
Tradition and community
The church day in Klein St. Paul is an integral part of the region's annual calendar and offers a wonderful opportunity for the village community to come together and celebrate. As kath-kirche-kaernten reports, the festival continued on Sunday with a festive mass and a parade. The Ebersteiner Kirchtagsmus and the “Kniaschaibn Echo” provided the musical background and created a cheerful atmosphere.
The tradition of such festivals is strongly rooted in Carinthia, which is also emphasized by the Weekend editorial team. Events like the Roßkestnfest are not only customs, but also a sign of the close connection between people and their roots. They promote a sense of community and bring generations together to keep culture and traditions alive.
Similar events are planned in the region for the next few days. This is also how people celebrate in other parts of Carinthia, for example with the field festival in Moos/Blato or a forest festival in Neudorf. All of these festivals show that local culture and tradition are firmly anchored in Carinthia and are always celebrated with a lot of joy and commitment.
