Vienna is becoming the fashion capital: glitz, glamor and sustainable trends!

Vienna shows itself in a new light and establishes itself as an up-and-coming fashion metropolis. The city is conquering the international catwalks with a variety of glamorous events and a special focus on sustainable design concepts. The Exchange Express has reported that the fall/winter trends for 2025/2026 are primarily characterized by monochrome styles and soft natural tones. This not only has an influence on fashion, but also on the entire cultural scene in the Austrian capital.

On October 3rd, the “Westfield Club Shopping Night” took place in Shopping City Süd, with TV star Bruce Darnell and other celebrities such as Kathi Stumpf and Ulrike Kriegler ringing in the glamorous evening. The night was organized by Adi Weiss and Michael Lameraner, two names that are very popular in the Viennese fashion scene. Just three days later, the MAK shone with the “Madonna Beauty Days”, where numerous personalities such as Vera Böhnisch and Simone Lugner set fashionable accents. Such events give the city a new flair and significantly strengthen the fashion community.

Nature meets glamour

The designers on the left and right of the Sweet Vienna Woods are particularly committed to sustainability. Labels like “dariadéh” rely on innovative materials such as Tencel and recycled cotton, while brands like Consches create creative unique pieces with “deadstock” fabrics. Next year, the Chamber of Commerce is also planning the “Austrian Sustainable Fashion Initiative”, which is intended to give local fashion a new face. “Made in Austria” becomes a symbol of quality and responsibility in the fashion world.

The fashion trends of the season are also varied. The focus is on monochrome styles in various shades, such as off-white, camel and beige, as well as detailed versions of knitted and tweed creations. In combination with the trend colors burgundy red and chocolate brown, they promise a good hand in choosing an outfit not only in everyday life, but also on festive occasions.

A highlight was definitely the MQ Vienna Fashion Week, which took place from September 15th to 20th, 2025 in the MuseumsQuartier. Under the motto diversity, creativity and promoting young talent, designers such as Nicolas Dudek and Marina Hoermannseder presented their collections for the coming spring/summer 2026. With fashion shows, workshops and networking events, the fashion week not only offered a platform for established greats, but also for up-and-coming talent.

In the central halls E and G, the audience experienced exciting sales and communication opportunities, while the after-show parties were well catered for. Ticket prices ranged from 28 to 180 euros and were a small investment in the big fashion experience.

The Viennese fashion scene has self-confidently emerged as a creative force in the international arena. Future events, such as the “Haute Vision House of Fashion” in Linz on October 9th to 11th and the “GRAND WEIBS Clubbbing” charity event at the Grand Hotel Vienna on October 16th, show once again that Vienna wants to have a strong say in the international fashion circus. The fashion highlights seem to be a common thread for your exciting season, and the anticipation of what's to come increases day by day.

Overall, it can be said: Vienna, with its strong fashion consciousness, is currently becoming a center for innovative designers, glamorous events and strong sustainable concepts. The future of Austrian fashion looks promising.
