Vienna is starting an unforgettable children's summer full of adventures!

The summer holidays are just around the corner and that means for the little Viennese: nine weeks full of adventure and fun! They are already looking forward to a colorful program that starts on June 28th in all 23 districts of the city. How butterfly reports, the opening festival in Donaupark will be rounded off with a variety of activities, stage programs and entertainment. Clowns, face painting and a tram simulator will heat up the atmosphere.

A very special highlight at the festival is the holiday game's mascot, Holli Knolli, who then goes on a tour of the Grätzel on cargo bikes. There the children can play board and board games, romp around in bouncy bags or get creative by making great crafts. The festival takes place on June 28th and 29th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and entry is free!

Diverse holiday game program

During the summer holidays there is no skimping on the offers: over 140 events are planned for children between 1 and 14 years old. In collaboration with “WienXtra”, an exciting program is designed in each district, ranging from trampoline jumping to a wheelchair course and a climbing tower. MyDistrict emphasizes that the live acts will also provide happy entertainment for the little guests. The first event of the holiday game will also take place on June 28th.

Despite refreshing outdoor activities, children aged 13 and over can also take part in special workshops such as manga drawing, ceramics and vegan cooking. “Reading in the Park” starts on June 30th and brings books directly to children in parks and playgrounds, where they can be borrowed for free.

Surprises at the film festival

Another treat for young Viennese is the film festival at Rathausplatz, where Billie Eilish will appear on June 28th at 9:30 p.m. There is a children's activity program every Friday from 2 p.m. and a children's opera program with free entry from 5 p.m.
The variety in the holiday programs is ensured by numerous interesting places such as Vienna Kids Farm and the Family beach on the Danube Island where children can ride ponies, play and relax. The high ropes course in the Gänsehäufel also promises pure excitement.

When it comes to the perfect summer, Vienna definitely has a lot to offer. From entertaining festivals to educational workshops and exciting outdoor adventures, there is something for every taste. We can only hope that the weather cooperates and the summer holidays go like a picture book!
