Vienna goes emission-free: Frankstahl presents electric crane truck!

Something is happening in Vienna when it comes to sustainable logistics: The Vienna Chamber of Commerce’s “Zero Emission Transport” project is gaining momentum and is focusing on innovative solutions for emission-free transport in the city. Companies in the first and second districts have voluntarily committed to making their deliveries emission-free. This initiative shows that responsibility for climate protection also extends to business.

An outstanding example is the Frankstahl company, which purchased a fully electric truck with a crane. There are only two examples of this extraordinary transporter, a Mitsubishi Fuso 7.5-ton truck with an impressive 124 kWh battery, in Austria. With a range of around 200 kilometers, the truck can be used flexibly for different customers and it already supplies several hundred companies.

Innovative technology for a clean future

What makes this truck so special? Roman Divoky, logistics manager at Frankstahl, highlights the numerous advantages for employees and residents. The fully electric loading crane not only operates quietly, it also does not cause any additional emissions. This is particularly important for the quality of life of residents and represents a significant step towards environmentally friendly city logistics.

Christian Holzhauser, chairman of the transport and traffic division, also emphasizes the valuable learning opportunities that arise from the development of such custom-made products. Frankstahl is already thinking about adding more electric trucks to its fleet in order to further expand its commitment to climate protection.

Together for climate protection

The “Zero Emission Transport” project also includes other companies that provide important data for scientific studies on city logistics. In this way, all participants make their contribution to the future viability of Vienna's commercial transport. It is clear: companies are taking responsibility and setting an example when it comes to climate protection.

The importance of sustainable transport and the use of the latest technologies are not only relevant for Vienna. They could also provide the basis for similar initiatives in other cities. The example of Frankstahl shows that progress in the field of city logistics is possible through innovative ideas and the will to change.

In conclusion, emission-free transport in Vienna is not just a fad, but a necessity that is slowly being anchored in the economy. Here we are at the beginning of a change that makes both ecological and economic sense.
