Eory-Kogel: Transparent Grapes delights in the ORF finale in Vienna!
The fascination of Southern Styria has reached a new peak: the giant glass grapes on the Eory-Kogel in Leutschach have made it to the final of the popular ORF program “9 Places – 9 Treasures”. This impressive sculpture, which sits 482 meters above sea level, impresses not only with its size, but also with its symbolic meaning. It embodies the days, weeks and months of the year and was included in the Guinness Book of Records in 2001. It is hardly surprising that participation turns out to be a real benefit for the entire region, as Kleine Zeitung reports.
In an exciting selection process, the giant wine grape prevailed against strong competitors such as the Augstsee and the Maria Straßengel pilgrimage church. The delegation from Leutschach will be there at the grand finale in Vienna to keep their fingers crossed and celebrate.
Unique opportunity for the region
Participation in the ORF competition is widely seen as important for the South Styrian Wine Route. This campaign not only promotes regional awareness but also brings tourists and locals together to celebrate the beauty of the region. Special occasions like this allow us to focus on the advantages and landscape of southern Styria, which delights both residents and visitors.
The program “9 Places – 9 Treasures”, which is broadcast every Saturday at 6:20 p.m. on ORF 2 and ORF ON, has established itself as a very special platform. Viewers have the opportunity to cast their votes for the most beautiful places in Austria. This is done through an exciting voting, in which a total of 27 places from all federal states are available to choose from, as mein.orf.at informs.
