Eory-Kogel: Glass grape inspires in the ORF final in Vienna!
The fascination of Southern Styria has reached a new peak: the giant glass grapes on the Eory-Kogel in Leutschach have made it to the final of the popular ORF program “9 Places – 9 Treasures”. This impressive sculpture, which sits 482 meters above sea level, impresses not only with its size, but also with its symbolic meaning. It embodies the days, weeks and months of the year and was included in the Guinness Book of Records in 2001. It is hardly surprising that participation turns out to be a real benefit for the entire region, as Kleine Zeitung reports.
In an exciting selection process, the giant whisper prevailed against strong competitors such as the Augstsee and the pilgrimage church of Maria Straßengel. The delegation from Leutschach will be on site at the grand finale in Vienna to keep their fingers crossed.
Unique opportunity for the region
Participation in the ORF competition is widely considered to be significant for the South Styrian Wine Route. This campaign not only promotes regional awareness, but also brings together tourists and locals to celebrate the beauty of the region. Special occasions such as this allow the advantages and landscape of South Styria to focus on, which enthusiastically inspires both residents and visitors.
The program "9 Places - 9 treasures", which is broadcast on ORF 2 and ORF ON every Saturday at 6:20 p.m., has established itself as a very special platform. The spectators have the opportunity to give their voices for the most beautiful places in Austria. This is done by an exciting voting, in which a total of 27 places from all federal states are available, such as mein.orf.at.
Together to victory
The competition begins with a federal state vote where viewers can choose their favorite locations. This journey of discovery through Austria is presented weekly and gives you the opportunity to explore the most beautiful corners of our country. Anyone who would like to actively participate can also submit photos of their personal favorite places. This call for participation will make the hearts of all nature and culture lovers beat faster and ensure that no beautiful place remains undiscovered.
With the giant wine grape on the Eory-Kogel, South Styria definitely has a strong and unique representative in the race. Fans and supporters can pursue the progress and work towards an exciting decision. The whole country is invited to celebrate and choose - the more votes, the better for our region!
