Leder & Schuh AG: Jump in sales thanks to new brands and branches!

Leder & Schuh AG, known for its brands Humanic and Shoe4you, reports pleasing sales of 371 million euros for 2024. This figure represents an increase of 367 million euros compared to the previous year. Particularly pleasing is the gross profit, which increased to 153.2 million euros compared to 152.3 million euros in the previous year. Numerous strategic measures have supported this growth, including the introduction of the new comfort brand Delka and the targeted expansion of the branch network.

Thanks to these measures, Leder & Schuh AG was able to open numerous new stores over the course of 2024. New branches opened their doors in cities such as Eisenstadt, Leoben, Steyr and Amstetten. There was also expansion in the CEE region, with new openings in places such as Žilina, České Budějovice and Karlovy Vary. In total, LSAG now operates 210 locations in nine countries, cementing its position as one of the largest shoe trading companies in Europe.

Diversity and innovation in the range

The expansion of the product range to include the established Delka brand, which is aimed particularly at fashion-conscious women, is contributing to sales growth. In addition to Delka, an exclusive collection with designer Silvia Schneider is also offered, which impresses with its high-quality and feminine design. These strategic steps aim to address new target groups and further increase sales, such as OTS reported.

In order to offer customers a modern shopping experience, Wels AG also relies on digital innovations. The introduction of the new HUMANIC and SHOE4YOU apps allows customers to enjoy personalized services and benefit from various offers such as SEND TO HOME, CLICK & COLLECT and RETURN TO STORE. This omnichannel strategy aims to optimize purchasing both in brick-and-mortar stores and online.

Market overview and challenges

The shoe trade across Europe is showing exciting developments. While the German market, loud Statista, after the pandemic-related losses, sales surge back to 6.5 billion euros, it remains to be seen whether the industry can ever return to its pre-pandemic level. The number of companies operating in this sector continues to decline, which is putting additional pressure on brick-and-mortar retailers.

Large providers like Deichmann, which offer a wide range of brands and own products, face strong competition from online retailers. Over 26 million Germans now buy their shoes online, which represents an additional challenge for stationary retailers.

Leder & Schuh AG has made it its mission to operate successfully in this changing market. With strategic investments in new products and digital services, the company is well positioned to meet the challenges of the future while further improving the shopping experience for customers.
