New cabaret highlight: Rudi Schöller invites top stars to the guesthouse!

A lot is happening in the field of cabaret art in Vienna. From June 17, 2023, Rudi Schöller's popular comedy podcast, “Pension Schöller”, will finally be broadcast on ORF 1. Ten episodes have already been filmed and the anticipation is great. In this new format, Rudi Schöller, known from the ORF program “Wir sind Kaiser”, plays the receptionist in a nostalgic environment that is equipped with original furniture and decor. This special location is more than just a set - it is preserved as a time capsule by a friend and producer of Schöller.

Rudi Schöller recently celebrated his 50th birthday and has decided to focus more on stand-up comedy since the Corona lockdowns. He has already invited around 70 guests to his podcast, including some of the most famous faces in the cabaret scene. The first episode opens with Manuel Rubey and Simon Schwarz, followed by illustrious names such as Josef Hader, Katharina Straßer and Gery Seidl.

Personal conversations and humorous anecdotes

In the guesthouse's rustic ambience, where a simple breakfast is served, conversations are naturally relaxed and entertaining. Rudi Schöller is valued as an empathetic conversation partner and has even expressed the desire to interview celebrities from outside the industry in the future. In addition to the humorous entertainment, the first guest, the cabaret artist Gery Seidl, is given a very personal setting for conversation. The trained civil engineer, whose bathroom is currently being renovated, stays at the Schöller guesthouse and talks about his own life's challenges. Together they metaphorically build a tall tower that eventually collapses in an amusing way, highlighting the lightness of their conversation.

But there is more in the first episode: Seidl advocates teaching humor in schools, while Schöller acts as his first student in the “joke” subject. The first lesson becomes a fun challenge for both Schöller and Seidl.

A look at Rudi Schöller's career

But who is Rudi Schöller actually? Growing up in Upper Austria and moving to Vienna after graduating from high school, he started doing cabaret at an early age. Together with his partner Bacher, he celebrated success and took his first steps on Radio FM4. Schöller wrote for the ORF comedy show “Echt Fett” and over the years developed into a sought-after cabaret artist and author. He always causes laughter - be it with his program “Auftrieb”, with which he won first place at the Vienna Cabaret Talent Show in 2015, or his appearances in formats such as “What’s new?” His most recent podcast, “Pension Schöller”, which started in February 2021, is now an integral part of the cabaret landscape.

With “Pension Schöller” a new chapter in Rudi Schöller's career will open from June 17th, which not only offers humor but also exciting insights into the lives of his guests. Don't miss this opportunity, because not only are stories told here, but the foundations of jokes are also rebuilt!
