Simmeringer street festival: Festive mood despite critical voices!
Last Saturday, hundreds of visitors flocked to the Simmeringer street festival, which took place along the main street between the U3 stations Simmering and Enkplatz. There was something for every taste with an impressive offer of over 150 stands. From culinary delights to refreshing drinks - the selection was diverse and provided a good overview of local gastronomy and trading companies. The "Savarona" café was also creative and enlarged its garden with additional beer tables and umbrellas, while the tables were also well filled in front of the "Kroki Grill", which underlined the lively atmosphere. [Meinverzirk] reports that the event lasted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the close neighborhood with its many small stands and live music created a happy atmosphere.
But not everything was rosy. Some residents expressed criticism of the lack of diversity of the stands and complained that only a few of Simmeringer companies were operated. The police were also on site and ensured that the measures such as the locks for cars and trams were strictly observed at the magistrate's decision. These were arranged from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., which meant that the residents were temporarily no access to their garage entrances, especially on Simmeringer Hauptstraße 30–32.
A colorful program for everyone
