dm apprentices pitch in: Social projects successful throughout Austria!
The power of young people's commitment is particularly evident throughout Austria these days. As part of the “72 hours without compromise” initiative, dm apprentices implement social projects together with the Catholic Youth, youngCaritas and Ö3. The aim of this great campaign is for young people to use their craft skills within three days and thus make an important contribution to the community. In the words of Karin Reisinger from dm, personal development and social responsibility are of central importance in training.
A total of 23 apprentices from different parts of Austria are involved in a wide variety of projects. This year, creative projects are on their agenda, such as building a mud kitchen for a kindergarten in Salzburg and redesigning a lounge for elementary school students. In Vienna, hard-working hands also worked to spruce up a storage room in the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district and create a green oasis.
Social projects in focus
The apprentices aim to implement their projects with precision, planning, teamwork and creativity. In Graz, for example, they are in the process of building sturdy garden benches and a cozy fireplace for a Caritas emergency sleeping area. Klemens Lesigang from the Catholic Youth Austria praised the commitment of the young people and emphasized how important such initiatives are in showing social responsibility and creating real meeting spaces.
Overall, the young people not only create beautiful places, but also opportunities for discovery and learning. This is particularly clear in the positive feedback from Salzburg, where the new furniture and the mud kitchen are already being eagerly awaited. The projects require not only skill, but also a good knack for organization and communication, skills that the apprentices develop for their professional future.
Apprenticeship training at dm
In addition to its social commitment, dm is now looking for new apprentices throughout Austria. There are currently open apprenticeships in various professions, including druggist, hairdresser and beautician. What was particularly noticeable were the 28 available positions in Salzburg, 40 in Vienna and a further 28 in Styria. So if you are interested in becoming part of an innovative team, you will find all the information you need on the website dm-lehre.at.
Through all of these activities, the apprentices show that they are ready to take responsibility and stand up for their fellow human beings. This is not only a benefit for the community, but also for their personal development. The initiative will probably continue to resonate in the minds and hearts of those involved for a long time.
