Viennese heart beats for Hollywood! An exciting call was made for up to 5,000 extras for the eagerly anticipated film production “The Rage”. Directed by Paul Greengrass, known for classics such as Captain Phillips and the Jason Bourne series, the film will be set in the 14th century and tell the gripping story of a farmer who rose up against the tyrannical King Richard II. The search for extras includes not only Middle Franconia, but also Upper Bavaria, which makes the region a hotspot for many potential actors. As Merkur reports, filming for the film is planned exclusively in Bavaria between September and November 2025.
The choice of filming locations couldn't be more impressive: the scenes are brought to life in Penzing near Munich, Nuremberg, and even the imposing Lichtenau Fortress in the Ansbach district. Bad Windsheim, also in Middle Franconia, is another important location, while the interior shots take place in the Penzing Studios. In order to credibly implement the historical setting, characters such as farmers, monks, rebels and soldiers are being sought for various roles. What’s special about the extra series? The actors are only needed on individual days and anyone can register to apply for a role, regardless of whether they have or without acting experience.
