World's largest beer pong event: Ottakring celebrates with costumes and beer!
Write and write what a spectacle took place in the Ottakringer Brewery last weekend! Over 300 enthusiastic participants came to take part in the largest beer pong event in the world. Not only the game but also the atmosphere was electric. Before the official start of the tournament at 3 p.m. there was already a state of emergency: costume competitions and beer-drinking competitions created a great atmosphere. The participants' creativity knew no bounds; everything from pirates to sandmen was there.
The highlight of the day? The costume competition, in which the team “Mei Bier is ned deppat” won. After the celebrations, the tournament began, which was played in a group stage with six teams per group. At the end of the group phase, the “Pong Perfect” team was able to fight its way through six exciting knockout games to the final and went home as brilliant winners. As a reward there was a year's supply of Ottakringer beer - a refreshment that is worth seeing!
Other planned events
The Ottakringer Brewery has even more to offer. The next big beer pong party is planned for autumn 2023, where 384 teams will compete against each other. Players can register with a team spot for two or a party ticket and hope for a big tournament in two rooms. Participants will have the choice of beer or spritzers as game drinks, and a food corner and outdoor chill-out area will be set up outside.
For everyone who doesn't want to go home straight away after being eliminated from the tournament, there is the option of “Play4Fun Beer Pong”. Eliminated teams and other visitors can continue to play and enjoy the evening. The event promises a great atmosphere with great prizes and lots of fun.
