Find out everything about the upcoming construction projects in Ottakring, which will begin in 2024 and be completed by 2026.

Finally no more grey! Seeböckgasse becomes a residential oasis!
Seeböckgasse in Ottakring will soon become a lively part of the 16th district again. After around three years, in which an overgrown vacant lot dominated the picture, construction work is now moving forward. The demolition of a multi-story building in July 2022 left a gap that has so far remained without building permits. But that is now changing, because a new residential project is in the starting blocks that will improve Seeböckgasse 39-41.
The new building will be constructed using solid construction and will comprise a total of seven floors above ground. Space is planned for 22 residential units and a business premises. An underground car park with 15 compulsory parking spaces will also be built. The building permit dates from 2023 and must be implemented by 2027 at the latest. The plan is to start construction next year. Completion is targeted for 2026, which should finally close the gap in construction, reports meinkreis.at.
Bicycle street is coming
But it's not just the residential buildings that are bringing a breath of fresh air. The transformation of Seeböckgasse into a green cycle route will also begin in 2024. This measure is part of a larger project that is intended to create a 2.5 kilometer long cycle link from Sandleitengasse to the Hernalser Belt wien.gv.at reported. The entire wheel axle should be fully accessible by the end of 2025. With the redesign, 58 newly planted trees, standard shrubs, seating and play areas await visitors.
The traffic safety measures also increase the quality of stay, while wider sidewalks and better visibility ensure all road users. Several educational institutions in the area have also been better connected, including four kindergartens, a new middle school and two high schools. The redesign will take place in sections: The first section of Seeböckgasse will be changed in 2024 from Sandleitengasse to Wattgasse, while Geblergasse in the 17th district will be examined in the following year.
Think outside the box
And while the Viennese are interested in these local developments, some might also need a little mental break. Regardless of the renovations, those interested can test their knowledge of national parks. An entertaining quiz is available that highlights, among other things, the history, animals and plants of the parks. It offers an exciting way to compete with friends and discover new parks, like binghomepageweeklyquiz.com explained.
Overall, these developments in Ottakring show how important it is to both create living space and beautify the surrounding living space. We can't wait to see what the next few years bring us!
