In the heart of the Austrian capital Vienna, in the “Viertel Zwei” development district, the foundation stone for the new “Dorint Hotel Weitblick Wien” was laid on September 29, 2023. With a height of 120 meters and 35 floors, the new mixed-use building will not only be an architectural highlight, but will also become an important part of the cityscape. Located close to the Vienna Trade Fair, the Ernst Happel Stadium and the University of Economics, the location promises excellent accessibility and quality of life, both for hotel guests and local residents. As pregas.de reports, the new hotel has a total of 298 rooms, including 28 long-stay units that are equipped with kitchens.
The hotel will offer a total area of approximately 55,000 square meters, which will not only provide hotel operations but also space for bureaucratic use. A prominent attraction will be the publicly accessible rooftop bar on the 35th floor, which will provide an impressive 360° view of the Danube region and the Vienna skyline with a terrace of over 700 square meters. This offering is complemented by an all-day dining restaurant, a coffee bar and eight modern event rooms. The project manager Dirk Iserlohe, who is also chairman of the supervisory board of the Dorint Hotel Group, underlines the future-oriented vision behind this high-quality new hotel building.
A strong team for sustainable construction
Construction work on the “Weitblick” high-rise building will begin in January 2025 after STRABAG Real Estate (SRE), as the project developer, has initiated the necessary steps. As Strabag Real Estate informs, Dorint Hotels & Betriebs GmbH has signed a long-term rental agreement for 30 years and is thus returning to the Vienna hotel landscape after almost two decades. This commitment symbolizes not only the return of a traditional brand, but also the strategic expansion of Dorint in Austria, where the Vienna hotel will be the third after Salzburg and Kitzbühel.
The new building of the Dorint Hotel relies on sustainability and modern technology. The planned energy center will use renewable resources such as CO2-free heating and cooling, ensuring environmentally friendly operation. The hotel concept combines contemporary smart technology with a regional reference to offer visitors a thoroughly positive experience Hoga Magazin.
