Liliencup 2026: SK Rapid Vienna triumphs in international indoor football!
The air was electric and the atmosphere last weekend in Wiesbaden was as lively as a football game itself. The 31st Wiesbaden Liliencup took place on January 17th and 18th, 2026 in the sports hall at Platz der Deutschen Entwicklung. And who would have thought? SK Rapid Wien proved to be the absolute star of the tournament and secured first place with a dominant performance.
With 20 participating youth teams from top national and international clubs, including the defending champions 1. FSV Mainz 05, an exciting tournament format was offered that presented indoor football at the highest level. It was the first time that Feyenoord Rotterdam, a club from the Eredivisie, appeared as a participant, while Rapid celebrated their 20th participation. Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende took over the patronage and thus set a celebratory framework for the event. The games ran over the entire weekend and offered action-packed and uncompromising encounters.
The group phase and the decisive duels
SK Rapid Wien was unbeaten in the group phase and was in impressive form. The group results are impressive: Rapid Vienna finished Group B with four wins and one draw and a goal record of 16:5.

In the semi-finals it was SK Rapid Wien's turn to face FC Heidenheim, while 1. FC Kaiserslautern defeated Mainz 05. Mainz then faced FC Heidenheim in the game for third place, which they defeated 6-4. But the most spectacular game of the day was the final, where Vienna showed the Lauterern team their limits with a clear 6-1. A performance that was hard to beat in terms of team spirit, speed and wit.

Before the grand finale, dance groups and cheerleaders added to the festive atmosphere and heated up the audience even more. Such an event not only pleases the eyes, but also the hearts of the fans. Things continue for Mainz 05: The duel against VfB Stuttgart in the youth league awaits on February 8th.
In the end, Rapid Vienna celebrated their third tournament victory, having already won the trophy in 2014 and 2019. The Liliencup is not only a showcase for talented young players, but also an opportunity to make international contacts and prepare the next generation for the big stages of football.
