In recent years, Confiserie Heindl in Vienna-Liesing has not only captured the hearts of chocolate lovers, but has also aroused the curiosity of many visitors. At a recent praline workshop, participants were able to get creative and make their own delicious treats. Such workshops are part of the extensive offering that the confectionery has been offering for more than 50 years. Heindl has been producing high-quality chocolates, sweets and jelly bears in Willendorfer Gasse since 1967, combining local tradition and sweet delights.

Managing director Andreas Heindl, who has managed the business since the company was founded in 1953, proudly mentions the modernization of the old shoe paste factory, which now fully meets the needs of production. The approximately 12,000 square meter production facility employs around 120 people, seasonally even up to 170, who create the diverse products with a lot of dedication and commitment.

Insights into the chocolate museum

A very special highlight is the Heindl Chocolate Museum, which has been offering visitors a comprehensive insight into the fascinating world of chocolate production since 2001. Here, guests not only learn how jelly bears and chocolate bananas are produced, but can also find out everything they need to know about the high-quality ingredients used in the manufacturing process. In particular, the Fairtrade cocoa, which has been used since 2014, underlines the company's social responsibility. The Chocolate Museum places great emphasis on using 100% Fairtrade cocoa, which is loud palate friend not only guarantees fair prices for farmers, but also ensures ecological and social standards.

The museum's opening times are Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors can also look forward to an exciting chocolate cinema and various workshops in which children and adults learn to create their own chocolates. There are individual offers, especially for children's birthdays and school trips, that focus on the topics of fair trade and sustainability in a mix of knowledge and fun.

In addition to classic pralines, Mozartkugeln and vegan pralines can also be made. At the last workshop, special creations such as Sissi Talers and chocolate hearts, which were individually decorated, were a hit. Participants also receive information about the various ingredients such as ruby ​​chocolate, which has long become a trend in the chocolate world.

For praline lovers, there is also the opportunity to put their own hands on the packaging, which further strengthens the personal connection to the sweet delicacies. The passion for chocolate, coupled with a responsible use of resources and fair trade aspects, make Heindl a pioneer in the Viennese confectionery industry.
