FBC Dragons celebrate 10 years of floorball: A celebration full of team spirit!
On June 18, 2025, the FBC Dragons celebrated their 10th anniversary with a big party at Otillingerplatz in Vienna's 23rd district. Around 250 guests, including club members, families, friends and supporters, came together to celebrate the club's successes and enjoy the atmosphere. The weather was brilliant and the road was closed for this event, which benefited the guests.
A special highlight of the day was the specially constructed floorball court, where those present could not only watch but also actively play. The youngest visitors were also taken care of: various stations and a station run ensured fun and exercise. The importance of floorball sport for the youth and community in Liesing was recognized by numerous guests of honor, including the district leader Gerald Bischof and Karl Zehetner, President of the Austrian Floorball Association. They highlighted the FBC Dragons' club work and were impressed by the positive development of the sport.
A look back at a decade full of successes
The FBC Dragons was founded in January 2015 with the aim of arousing enthusiasm for floorball among children, young people and adults. Floorball, a mixture of field and ice hockey as well as basketball, promotes both fitness and skill. The game is played with a light plastic bat and ball, with fun always being the priority.
The club has recorded numerous successes in recent years. Especially in the 2024/2025 season, the women's Bundesliga achieved the title of Austrian national champion. The U17 and U12 also became Vienna champions, while the U8 also shone with a championship title. An overview of the successes of the last few seasons shows that the Dragons play an important role in Austrian floorball:
| season | Achievements |
|---|---|
| 2024/2025 | Bundesliga Women: Austrian national champion, U17: Vienna champion, U12: Vienna champion, U8: Vienna champion |
| 2023/2024 | U12: Vienna champions, U19 women: Austrian runner-up |
| 2022/2023 | Club of the Year 2022 by the City of Vienna |
| 2021/2022 | U19 women: Austrian champions |
The club has also been awarded the Fit Sport Austria seal of quality and places particular emphasis on team spirit and technique in training. With a charming supporting program that included a tombola, a fan shop and a delicious coffee and cake buffet, the celebration was rounded off with a look back at a decade full of sporting success and team spirit.
“It’s getting better and better,” praised an enthusiastic fan and added: “You can tell that the heart beats for the sport here.” The FBC Dragons focus on the fun of the game and the community spirit, and so it certainly won't be the last festival of its kind.
