FBC Dragons celebrate 10 years of floorball: a festival full of team spirit!
On June 18, 2025, the FBC Dragons celebrated their 10th anniversary with a large festival on Otillingerplatz in the 23rd Vienna district. Around 250 guests, including club members, families, friends and supporters, came together to celebrate the success of the association and enjoy the atmosphere. In bright weather, the street was closed to this event, which benefited the guests.
A special Highlight of the day was the specially built floorball court, where the attendees not only watched, but also actively played along. The youngest visitors were also taken care of: various stations and a station run ensured fun and movement. The importance of floorball for the youth and the community in Liesing was recognized by numerous guests of honor, including district manager Gerald Bischof and Karl Zehetner, President of the Austrian Floorball Association. They emphasized the association work of the FBC Dragons and were impressed by the positive development of sport.
A review of a decade full of success
The FBC Dragons was founded in January 2015 with the aim of awaken enthusiasm for floorball among children, adolescents and adults. Floorball, a mixture of field and ice hockey as well as basketball, promotes both fitness and skill. The game is played with a light plastic racket and ball, with the focus on the fun.
In recent years, the association has had numerous successes. Especially in the 2024/2025 season, the women's Bundesliga reached the title of the Austrian state champion. The U17 and U12 also became Viennese champions, while the U8 also shone with a championship title. An overview of the success of the last seasons shows that the dragons play an important role in the Austrian floorball:
