A new culinary destination has been established in the middle of Steyr's old town: “Viennas Döner” recently opened at Enge Gasse 1. The operators, Bashar Husam (29) and Ibrahim Weam (27), both natives of Syria, are bringing a breath of fresh air to the city's gastronomy scene. Both Husam, who has lived in Austria for 13 years and now has citizenship, and Weam, who came to the Alpine republic seven years ago, have already gained experience in the catering industry. They previously ran the restaurant “Original Berliner Döner” on Ennser Straße before deciding to restart in Steyr after Husam sold the previous location seven months ago.
The new location attracts a wide audience with its diverse range of delicacies. “Viennas Döner” not only serves traditional doner and kebab, but also pizza, burgers, pasta, salads, fries, chicken nuggets and turkey schnitzel, which are also available for pickup. The operators are particularly proud of their homemade dough for pizza and kebab bread as well as their homemade burger sauces. Here, emphasis is placed on quality, freshness and cleanliness when cooking, which is reflected in the initial feedback from guests.
Location and target group
The location in Zwischenbrücken couldn't be better chosen: close to the train station, the town square, the technical college and the secondary school, the restaurant is ideal for pick-ups and walk-ins. The decision to locate in the city center was made due to the special ambience and the opportunity to implement innovative ideas. In the long term, there are also plans to hire an additional employee to further optimize operations.
