Brilliant evening: The DiVA Gala 2025 celebrates Roter Veltliner!
On November 21, 2025, the DiVA Roter Veltliner Gala 2025 took place at the MÖRWALD headquarters in Feuersbrunn, celebrating a real festival of Wagram wine culture. Winemakers, wine experts, media representatives and food lovers came together to discover the new releases of the 2024 vintage - a selection known for its high ripeness and juiciness. The limited DiVA box “Vintage 2024” was also presented that evening, underlining the appeal of Roter Veltliner and representing Wagram’s wine culture. This gala not only showcased the Roter Veltliner grape variety, but also provided a platform for 12 committed winemakers from the region.
The event was personally organized by Toni Mörwald, who is known for his passion for culinary delights. The menu relied on regional products, including Wagramer Wild, and consisted of six excellently balanced courses. The winemakers, including Ecker-Eckhof, Direder and Greil, shared their enthusiasm for the successful vintage and highlighted the optimal conditions: As Ralph Waldschütz explained, the weather was perfect for the Roter Veltliner, so that the grapes arrived in the vineyards very ripe.

The winemakers' comments were consistently positive. Robert Direder described the vintage as exciting, while Alexandra Ecker emphasized that the location at 320 meters above sea level was optimal for the Roter Veltliner. Matthias Mayer raved about the perfect hours of sunshine and temperatures that give the wines their special character. The DiVA box “Vintage 2024” is not just a product; it tells the story of a region and its wine culture.
The traditional history of the Mörwald family extends over 50 years. Originally started as a mixed agricultural operation, they developed into a well-known address for enjoyment in Lower Austria. Mörwald Holding GmbH, based in Feuersbrunn am Wagram, is now a byword for top quality in the catering industry.
Culinary events in Wagram
It is not the only event that focuses on gastronomy and wine. On October 24, 2025, for example, the dinner event of the “Renowned Wineries Burgenland” association took place. Twelve top winemakers from Burgenland met to present their wines without any frills and to make a contribution to the natural and cultural landscape. The menu also consisted of a 6-course dinner, with each course accompanied by two wines from the winemakers. A true feast for the senses!
The next big event for wine lovers has already been decided: Vinexpo – Wine Paris, which will take place from February 10th to 12th, 2025. Many wineries, including Weingut Schabl, will present their latest creations here. The coming months will also focus on other exciting events such as “Wein & Genuss Linz” and “Austrian Tasting London”, which shows that Wagram’s wine culture is also heard internationally.
Overall, the events and the focus on the culinary experience are unmistakable. The Wagram is a place where wine and food go hand in hand and where every event represents an encounter with regional identity.
