Hyundai in Vienna: E-mobility offensive with new flagship store!
Hyundai is relying on electromobility - a clear path that was officially announced on January 20, 2026 in Vienna-Erdberg by Austrian boss Alexander Punzengruber. At the start of the year press conference, he presented the company's latest plans, which include an increased focus on electric drives in Austria from 2026.
The year 2025 was a real success for Hyundai. New registrations in Austria rose by a whopping 13 percent, meaning the market share is now a remarkable 4.5 percent - that corresponds to 12,923 vehicles. The increase in the field of battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) is particularly pleasing: a market share of 4.3 percent was recorded here, which corresponds to an increase of 2.5 percentage points compared to the previous year. The CO₂ emissions of the newly registered models have also improved, falling from 118.55 to 98.09 g/km.
Something new is coming in 2026
A comprehensive product offensive is planned for the future. Particularly noteworthy is the redesign of the Tucson, Bayon and Kona, which are scheduled to launch in November 2026. Under the new “Art of Steel” design concept, future models will feature more striking proportions and cleaner lines. A highlight will be the “Concept THREE” concept vehicle, which already gives a foretaste of the upcoming electric models. The revised version of the IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 6N will be the first example of the new design language.
Hyundai has also invested in its dealer structure and enjoys a network of 101 locations in Austria. The new Denzel flagship store was opened at this location as a real flagship store for the company. This will properly celebrate Hyundai's 35th anniversary in Austria in August 2026.
Strong focus on electric vehicles
The emphasis on electromobility is not accidental. In Germany, for example, the demand for electric vehicles is causing enormous growth: the share of electric cars in Hyundai registrations reached 27 percent from January to April 2025, which means an increase of ten percentage points compared to the previous year. A remarkable increase in e-mobility can also be observed in other countries, as statista.com shows: At the end of 2024, there were over 55.8 million cars with electric drives worldwide, a sign of the increasing acceptance and need for sustainable mobility.
Hyundai has announced the “Superbonus Reloaded” for 2026, details are still pending. But the direction is clear: electromobility will continue to gain momentum in Austria. With a budget strategy and continuous improvement of the charging infrastructure, the future of Hyundai and electric mobility will shine brightly.
