Vienna celebrates Nacho Day: Schnitzel and nachos in a completely new combination!

An exciting new culinary highlight is launching in Vienna! On the occasion of International Nacho Day, a very special creation will be presented from October 20th to 22nd: the first nacho schnitzel roll. Fresh from the kitchen of the Tex-Mex specialist Santa Maria and the award-winning chef Sebastian Neuschler, their latest trick can be particularly combined with the Viennese sausage stand culture. If you're looking for a treat, please don't miss this delicious snack!

The Nacho Schnitzel Roll consists of crispy, breaded schnitzel pieces that are served with guacamole, taco sauce and a nacho crunch in a fresh roll. You can treat yourself to this specialty at the Vienna Stock Exchange for 8.90 euros. The combination of Viennese home cooking and Mexican influences is exactly what makes many people want more. This innovative mix of tradition and new taste experiences has the potential to conquer the hearts of Viennese people.

Fine things about the nacho schnitzel roll

The International Nacho Day event will take place daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will not only offer the nacho schnitzel roll. Visitors can also look forward to a variety of taco specialties - whether vegan, pulled beef or pulled pork. Plus, with every taco you get a free portion of nachos with dip! The event will take place even in light rain; A postponement will only be considered in the event of severe storms. The joy of eating certainly doesn't fall by the wayside!

But why are nachos so popular? Originally created in Mexico by Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya for a group of female soldiers, they have quickly become a classic. The originally simple dish has evolved over the years into a versatile dish that can be enjoyed both in restaurants and at home, with numerous toppings such as ground beef, cheese, jalapeños and avocado. Typically, you use fresh tortilla chips that you can make yourself or buy at the supermarket. This ensures the best melting quality of the cheese, which melts better when freshly grated than pre-grated, which is often treated with anti-stick powder.

Useful tips for nacho lovers

If you want to create your own nachos at home, you will find a wealth of recipes tailored to different preferences. For example, we recommend baking the chips briefly in the oven before adding cheese - this way everything stays nice and crispy. Popular toppings include Cheddar and Colby Jack cheeses, pico de gallo, guacamole, and fresh cilantro and jalapeños. A balanced mix of protein, vegetables and cheese offers not only a tasty but also nutritious snack.

The combination of Viennese cuisine tradition and the American-Mexican nacho culture, coupled with the commitment of Santa Maria under the direction of Arthur Ham, shows that there is always room for new and exciting experiences in gastronomy. The event surrounding the nacho schnitzel roll should therefore attract not only gourmets, but also the curious!

Save the dates: From October 20th to 22nd, Vienna will be a hotspot for nacho and schnitzel fans. Don't miss this unique gastronomic event!
