Hot flash controls in Vienna: Where the speed traps lurk today!
Today, October 11, 2025, mobile radar devices will be in use again in Vienna to increase traffic safety and control speeding. Loud News.de Today, three locations have speed cameras in place to help road users comply with speed limits.
The mobile speed cameras are strategically placed in highly frequented and accident-prone locations. In the ÖAMTC It should be noted that radar boxes are particularly installed at dangerous points where there is an increased risk of traffic accidents. The club also appeals to all road users to strictly adhere to the speed limits.
Current lightning locations
Today the following three speed camera locations are active in Vienna:
- 📍 A1, PLZ 1140 (Penzing, KG Auhof, Mariabrunn): 70 km/h-Zone, Blitzer seit 15:49 Uhr.
- 📍 Otto-Probst-Straße, PLZ 1100 (Favoriten, KG Inzersdorf Stadt, Siedlung Wienerberg-Süd): 20 km/h-Zone, Blitzer seit 14:16 Uhr.
- 📍 Südosttangente, PLZ 1100 (Favoriten, KG Inzersdorf Stadt, Per-Albin-Hansson-Siedlung Nord): 80 km/h-Zone, bereits seit dem 10. Oktober bekannt.
The exact measurement tolerances are also important to know: For laser measurements, the tolerance is three km/h up to 100 km/h, while above that it is three percent. Radar devices have a slightly higher tolerance, which is 5 km/h to 100 km/h and also five percent above 100 km/h.
Technologically up to date
The new radar boxes that are now in use in Vienna have improved laser measurement. This technology ensures that the measurement tolerance is lower, which not only increases accuracy but also makes traffic safer. If the speed limit is below 100 km/h, there is only a margin of three km/h - that is a clear message for all drivers.
Anyone who thinks that the speed cameras are random is wrong. The Vienna police have developed a mobile concept that involves constantly changing the location of the radar boxes. So it stays exciting and it won't be easy to avoid the flash units. Radar boxes are particularly popular in places with high traffic volumes and where environmental conditions also play a role.
As has become clear in the last few days, the danger situation in road traffic remains dynamic and requires regular adjustments to speed cameras. The goal always remains the same: to increase road safety and prevent accidents.
