New family pool in Stammersdorf: Waiting for the green light!

A lot is happening in Stammersdorf: A new family pool is in the starting blocks, which will replace the old children's outdoor pool. The location for the swimming pool will be in Edi-Finger-Gasse. This promising project has a volume of five million euros and could be implemented quickly if the district council makes a positive decision in December 2025, says MyDistrict.

District leader Georg Papai from the SPÖ sees the new family pool as one of his main projects. Speaking in his inaugural speech not only about the swimming pool, but also about measures for new and renovated schools, an improved cultural budget and a better public transport system, shows how important health and education infrastructure is to him. The renovation of the Schlingermarkt and the creation of a new park in Pichlwangergasse are also high on his agenda DFZ21 reported.

Financing and future outlook

The new swimming pool will be financed entirely from district funds, which significantly increases the chances of approval. A positive decision could not only be beneficial for the immediate area around Stammersdorf, but also for the entire northern Floridsdorf district region. The new family pool is scheduled to open in 2027. Until then, however, some bureaucratic hurdles still have to be overcome.

The district council is optimistic that the necessary steps will be approved next December. The debates about the project are taking place in a constructive climate, which is due to the commitment of local politicians. Georg Papai in particular is combative and sees the pool as a step in the right direction for the family-friendly development of the district.

This shows that the district is on the way to a family and environmentally friendly future. It will be interesting to see how the plans develop further!
