Double gold rush: HSV Bruckneudorf triumphs at army championships!

A brilliant weekend for the Army Sports Club (HSV) Bruckneudorf: The shooters scored big at the Austrian Army Championships in Stammersdorf. Lukas Leban was the undisputed star of the event and secured two gold medals. His teammates Johann Huszar and Ursula Pschill also contributed to the great result. Pschill was able to celebrate a bronze medal in the air pistol, while Huszar and Leban won gold in the air pistol discipline.

But that wasn't all: the trio Leban, Pschill and Huszar were able to win silver in the free competition. Another highlight was the victory of Robert Müllner, who won gold in air rifle shooting. Johann Huszar also celebrated his first title in the 50m free pistol discipline – a truly fantastic success for him.

Young talent and strong performances

The audience could also look forward to seeing the young shooters. Katharina Leban, Mario Giefing, Franz Schmitzhofer as well as the young talents Anna Giefing, Lara Voda and Lukas Pschill showed good placings and thus provided further reasons for joy among the HSV supporters. These successes confirm that the club is on the right track and has many talented athletes in its ranks.

The performances of the shooters are not only important for HSV. The Austrian Shooting Association (ÖSB), which has been active as the oldest sports association in Austria since 1879, pursues the goal of further promoting shooting sports in all its facets. With around 25,000 members in around 700 shooting clubs, not only is competitive sport supported, but youth work is also very important. Living tradition and modern approaches go hand in hand here, which benefits not only the top athletes, but also the broad base of sport shooters.

Runner-up as another success

HSV Bruckneudorf didn't just draw attention to itself at the army championships. In spring 2024, the team won the runner-up title at the final of the Austrian Air Pistol Club League in Kufstein. In this high-class league, it was mainly Johann Huszar, Lukas Leban and Franz Schmitzhofer who represented the HSV colors and ended up in silver place - a remarkable success that points to the club's consistently good performance.

HSV Bruckneudorf is clearly making a name for itself, and the upcoming competitions will show how strong the motivation and cohesion of the team is. With their talents and the strong support of the ÖSB, the shooters look to the future with optimism.
