Protest in Floridsdorf: Settlers' association finally calls for improvements to the 20A!
The Bruckdecken settlers' association and the Floridsdorf district council have joined forces to protest against the problems with bus line 20A. At a recent protest at the Josef-Melichar-Gasse station, numerous residents gathered to express their dissatisfaction. Not only the unpunctual buses are criticized, but also the sometimes unreasonable speed of the vehicles in 30 zones. The bus line, which is operated by ZuklinBus GmbH, has been causing discontent among passengers for a long time.
As meinkreis.at reports, the timetable was changed in April 2025 to allow for closer intervals for school children. Unfortunately, the hoped-for improvements have not yet materialized. District leader Georg Papai (SPÖ) was critical and made it clear that the current company was not making the promised progress.
Round table and new measures
In order to improve the situation, a round table was convened at which representatives of Wiener Linien and ZuklinBus GmbH were present. The aim is to review operational processes and discuss short-term adjustments to the school route. In response to the concerns, ZuklinBus has taken internal action. Training for the driving staff was intensified and discussions were held with the drivers after two out of twelve drivers exceeded the permitted speed.
However, in the last two weeks, ZuklinBus has not detected any further speeding and reports a noticeable improvement in the situation. However, the question remains why delays and bus cancellations continue to occur. These can be attributed to various causes - from internal problems such as vehicle breakdowns to external disruptions such as traffic jams or road closures. In order to continue monitoring the situation, ZuklinBus is planning regular coordination with Wiener Linien.
Against this background, it is clear that efforts to improve are well underway, but passengers' patience is being tested. At a time when public attention is often focused on other issues, local transit is often left behind and citizens' voices need to be heard. Only through active action by everyone involved can the situation be sustainably improved.
Although the Bruckdecken Settlers' Association and the residents stand up for their concerns, there are also other issues that concern people in Vienna. For example, the universe of Marvel films, which is currently featuring new productions, also has its fans. With the upcoming filmLes Quatre Fantastiques: Premiers pas, premiering in July 2025, another highlight is just around the corner as Marvel Studios continues to adapt its strategies to delight audiences.
