A very special event for all hiking and nature lovers is just around the corner in Vienna: The “12 Hour LiDo” hiking day takes place onOctober 18, 2025took place in the districts of Floridsdorf and Donaustadt. This event, running between 8am and 8pm, offers a way to experience the city in a whole new way while strolling along the district borders with ease.
The route from around50 kilometersis not only a sporting adventure, but also an exciting discovery tour through the city. Hikers can expect a combination of quiet local recreation areas and charming neighborhoods. The highlights include the beautiful Danube Island, the picturesque Marchfeld Canal, the Bisamberg as well as the Norbert Scheed Forest and the cellar alleys of Stammersdorf. The route also leads through the lakeside town of Aspern, which has developed into a modern metropolitan area.
A shared experience for everyone
Great attention is paid to the community, because everyone can decide for themselves how many in total12 stageshe or she wants to complete. At the variousStamp stationsNot only are free hiking maps and stamp passes provided, but also small goodies for every stamp card collected.
Anyone who manages to visit all twelve stations can look forward to an exclusive surprise gift and will be inducted into the “LiDo Hall of Fame”.
