Taxi driver robbed in Vienna-Favoriten – police are looking for witnesses!

The streets of Vienna-Favoriten were the scene of a brazen robbery of a taxi driver on Monday afternoon. At around 3:30 p.m., the 33-year-old driver briefly parked his vehicle in Raaber-Bahn-Gasse when he was approached by two unknown men. According to die Presse, they demanded money and threatened the taxi driver with a folding knife. He remained physically unharmed, but the perpetrators searched his jacket pockets and stole a large amount of cash before fleeing towards Landgutgasse.

The police were informed immediately and the investigation was taken over by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, southern branch. The taxi driver filed a report with the Van-der-Nüll-Gasse police station. The perpetrators were described as men aged 20 to 25, around 175 cm tall and with dark hair. They were dressed in black winter jackets and black sneakers. The police are asking for any relevant information that can be reported anonymously to 01-31310-57800.
