SV Essling celebrates: Dramatic home win against SC Ostbahn XI!

In an exciting duel in the 2nd regional league on Sunday, November 16, 2025, SV Essling celebrated a dramatic 3-2 win against SC Ostbahn XI. Right from the start there was hardly any respite at the Esslingen hometown because the hosts showed a committed game.

Daniel Kirchner gave Esslingen a 1-0 lead in the 5th minute. However, the guest from Ostbahn did not let himself be defeated. In the 15th minute, Nuri Kilic added another and it seemed as if Essling would start the second half with a comfortable 2-0 lead. But the SC Ostbahn XI, coached by Halil Akaslan, found their way back into the game and reduced the score to 2-1 with a penalty from Halil Günay in the 37th minute.

Exciting second half

The second half kept the audience in suspense. Simon Odey from Ostbahn equalized in the 50th minute to make it 2-2 and the game seemed to be tipping in favor of the guests. An open exchange of blows developed, which offered both teams enough opportunities. But in the 89th minute it was Martin Haberleitner who secured Essling's victory with a goal in the final phase and brought the score to 3-2. Essling took back the home win in an exciting way.

After the game, coach Halil Akaslan expressed his regret about the early goals conceded and emphasized the missed opportunities for further goals. A regular goal from his team was also wrongly disallowed, which did not improve the mood on the Ostbahn bench. Nevertheless, he emphasized the fighting spirit of his troops and praised their ability to return, which should not go unmentioned.
