Essling celebrates a triumphant win against Schönbrunn 5-1!

On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, a very one-sided duel between the local SV Essling and SU Schönbrunn took place at the Essling sports field. The result of 5:1 speaks volumes and shows that Essling was simply the better team that day. Referee Yara Maria Kandlbinder refereed the match and ensured that the game went off without any major controversy. The spectators were able to look forward to a thrilling game that was dominated by the home team.

The Essling team got off to a furious start. In the 2nd minute, Marco Roskopf took the early lead. Daniel Entremont added in the 16th minute and increased the score to 2-0. But Schönbrunn didn't give up and scored the next goal through Muhammed-Ali Sahin in the 37th minute. This goal briefly gave hope, but Essling's answer was quick and clear: Jonas Madaras scored twice in the 62nd and 69th minutes and thus clearly set the course for victory. Lukas Mandl scored the final point in the 87th minute to make it 5-1.

Team lineups and substitutions

Esslingen's starting eleven appeared to be well positioned: In addition to goalkeeper L. Zeitler, D. Entremont, Y. Meisel, A. Giebel, P. Ernst, A. Jagodic, K. Drljepan, J. Madaras, S. Ahmadi, O. Mdawi and M. Roskopf were in action. A. Andric, L. Mandl, P. Jirku, S. Kazemi and K. Kobas sat on the substitutes' bench. The Schönbrunner starting eleven consisted of N. Broschek, D. Pichler, M. Mousa, E. Arthur, L. Thaqi, Y. Mousa, M. Sahin, M. Al Mohamad, A. Cajic, M. El-Kalliny and S. Koprolin, with A. Challouf, D. Bondarenko, I. Kelava, A. Husseini and C. Thomas on the bench.

Both teams changed during the game, with Essling bringing fresh players into the game. Mandl, Jirku, Andric, Kazemi and Kobas were used. Schönbrunn, however, made changes at the start of the second half when Husseini and Kelava came on for Mousa and J. Challouf for Sahin.

Cards and discipline

However, the game was not entirely without excitement: Kristijan Kobas and Sindbad Koprolin were each shown yellow for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 87th minute. On the Schönbrunn side, Dennis Pichler was warned in the 57th minute for criticism, which caused a somewhat heated atmosphere.

But football wasn't just played by men. The Essling women's team also competed against Schönbrunn over the course of the season and recently experienced an exciting encounter. On September 20, 2025, Essling lost 1-2 against Schönbrunn in the Vienna Women's Regional League. In a thrilling game, Miriam Kis found her way into the net twice for Schönbrunn in the 28th and 80th minutes. Annika Bramauer scored the only goal for Essling in the 36th minute.

However, there were more cards to see in this game. Essling received two yellow cards from Jennifer Janisch and Jennifer Traun, and coach Manfred Pasch also received a warning for criticism. These two teams offer exciting football in every respect, affecting both the men's and women's teams.

In summary, it can be said that SV Essling celebrated an impressive victory this Saturday, while the women's team does not have to shy away from the challenges in their league. A clear victory that boosted the team's morale and thrilled the audience! These two encounters show that football in Essling is still lively and exciting.
