B&B Hotels: Europe's growth champion in the budget segment 2025!
An exciting year for the hotel industry in Europe! The B&B Hotels group recently received the award from PKF Hospitality Group as the continent's fastest growing hospitality brand in 2025. This recognition is clear evidence of the company's strong position in the budget and economy segments as well as in the European value-for-money market. CEO Arno Schwalie, who heads the business for Central & Northern Europe, is pleased about this honor and emphasizes that it underlines the quality and strategic approach of the hotel group. B&B Hotels aims to reach a total of 3,000 locations worldwide over the next ten years, which shows the company's ambitions.
B&B Hotels currently operates over 270 properties in Central & Northern Europe, with Germany having the largest presence with more than 235 hotels. As the Tageskarte reports, the hotel group is not only expanding, but also opened seven new hotels in the first half of 2025. These include locations in Munich-Schwabing, Vienna-Heiligenstadt and several other cities in Germany and Poland.
Sustainable growth and commitment
B&B Hotels is pursuing a clear course: With Agenda 500, they are focusing on sustainable growth and social responsibility. An important part of this strategy is the B&B Hotels Academy, which acts as a learning and development platform for hoteliers. This initiative shows that the hotel group not only values expansion, but also the development of its employees. As part of the growth plan, a total of nine new rental agreements are planned by the end of 2026, which are intended to secure further hotel openings in German-speaking countries.
The increase in capacity is impressive. 686 new rooms were opened in the first half of 2025, including 120 in Austria and 474 in Germany. In addition, a further 955 rooms are planned through the new rental agreements. B&B Hotels not only shows dynamism, but also a good sense of where travelers want to go. One of the trends in the hotel industry is that hotels are considered the most popular form of accommodation among travelers, which further underlines the competitiveness of B&B hotels.
A place in the international arena
What is particularly noteworthy is that B&B Hotels is part of an international hotel group that was founded in Brest in 1990 and now operates over 930 hotels in 19 countries. The main shareholder has been Goldman Sachs since 2019, which confirms the company's financial stability. The increasing global demand for accommodation services, with the number of users in the hotel segment expected to increase to more than 1.8 billion by 2029, represents a great opportunity for B&B Hotels to further establish themselves.
In a market that is as rapidly changing as the hotel industry is currently, B&B Hotels shows that you can survive excellently with a clear vision and a strategic approach. With the award as Europe's fastest-growing brand, the company has secured its place at the top and will remain a key player in the global hotel segment in the future.
Whether in Germany, Austria or Poland – B&B Hotels attracts attention and has certainly earned a good deal of hospitality. The next steps have already been planned and we can look forward to seeing how the company develops in the coming years.
