The club offered a gross annual salary of around three million euros, which was unacceptable given the circumstances.

This financial creativity shows that Rapid wanted to do everything in their power to sign the player, who scored seven goals in 28 competitive games for Inter Milan last season and is highly rated despite injury problems.
