AirportCity Vienna: Sixth victory at the European Real Estate Brand Award!
At a celebratory event in Berlin, Vienna AirportCity at Vienna Airport was awarded the European Real Estate Brand Award - for the sixth time in a row! In the “Business Campus Austria” category, AirportCity was able to prevail against numerous competitors and has thus established itself as one of the leading projects in the Austrian real estate industry. The award, which was presented on June 23, 2025, is based on an extensive study by the European Real Estate Brand Institute, in which over 1,200 brands from 22 sub-sectors were examined and more than 120,000 expert reviews were taken into account, such as Austrian Wings reported in detail.
Dr. Günther Ofner, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG, was visibly proud and highlighted AirportCity's advanced infrastructure and excellent transport connections. “This makes it particularly attractive for companies to set up shop here,” says Ofner. Mag. Wolfgang Scheibenpflug, the division manager for real estate and location management, also emphasized the diversity of the companies and the high range of services that make Vienna AirportCity a magnet for employees and investors.
Attractive offers and impressive figures
What makes AirportCity so special? For the over 250 companies that are based there and offer jobs to more than 23,000 people, it's not just the 120,000 m² of office space, but also the extensive infrastructure. From a specialist medical center to a modern fitness center to two hotels and a wide range of shopping and dining options, everything is available to enrich corporate life.
Vienna AirportCity also impresses with a well thought-out transport concept: the rail and road connections are first-class. It takes passengers seven minutes on the ÖBB and S7, and the City Airport Train takes travelers from the city center to the airport in just 16 minutes. This extensive range of services is a crucial success factor that was taken into account in the evaluation of AirportCity in the brand value study.
Return on investment and outlook
The European Real Estate Brand Award, which was presented for the 2025th time this year, honors not only the brand itself, but also the strategic development and location management of AirportCity. “Sustainability, a level of innovation and a competent team are the cornerstones of our success,” explains Scheibenpflug, highlighting the excellent collaboration with around 250 partner companies that further strengthen the location.
The importance of Vienna AirportCity is reflected in the general development of the location. With a constantly growing number of companies and a wide range of services, AirportCity is a central element in the Austrian real estate landscape, as are OEVZ and Die Press.
