Sporty Halloween party: St. Veiter shooters honored!

On October 29, 2025, a very special day was celebrated for the Carinthian athletes in Klagenfurt. The honor, given by State Governor Dr. Peter Kaiser and state sports director Mag. Arno Arthofer, attracted numerous guests. The St. Veit shooting club was among the guests of honor. This event was a fitting recognition of the outstanding achievements of the region's athletes.

Ferdinand Eder and Siegfried Grabensberger, who were honored for their titles as Austrian champions, were particularly highlighted. The two athletes were accompanied to the honor by state senior shooting champion Wolfgang Schator and senior shooting champion Ronald Eberdorfer. This shows how important it is to value top performance in sport and underlines the commitment of the clubs in the region.

Halloween and competitions

But the honor wasn't just about sport: on October 25th, the St. Veit shooting club held its traditional Halloween shooting. This event attracted numerous shooters from Carinthia and beyond and created a happy, sociable atmosphere. The community was also present, represented by Harald Gradischnig and Patrick Egger. It was a festival for young and old with a focus on community spirit.

To honor the successes and commitment of the participants, prizes were awarded for the placements. The event was supported by sponsors such as Patrick Türk (AGT Gun Trade), Josef Schneeberger (Car Tech) and the Waldhauser family (direct marketing). This shows how important the local economy is in promoting sport and how companies are involved in the community.

Thanks to the excellent organization by the club members, around 400 starts were carried out smoothly. The commitment of the helpers and the enthusiasm of the athletes ensured an all-round successful day.

A look into utopia

Interestingly, utopian ideas have taken various forms over the centuries, from architectural designs to social movements. While traditional utopian concepts are often utopian but not necessarily implementable, modern discussions also include the influence of topics such as post-scarcity economics and criticism of capitalism.

The idea of a better society, whether in sport or in everyday life, remains a central motivation for many people. The St. Veit shooting club shows how community spirit and commitment can contribute to sporting success and create a kind of “utopia” on a small scale.
