Neureuther meets Hollywood star: Hasta la vista, Baby” in Vienna!

Felix Neureuther, the former German ski star, impresses not only on the slopes but also off the slopes. The 39-year-old is considered one of the best riders in German ski history and can look back on a successful career with 13 World Cup victories and five World Championship medals. However, his resignation in 2019 was by no means the end of his sporting ambitions; rather, he began an impressive commitment to environmental and climate protection projects.

Neureuther was recently invited to Vienna by Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger. The two are shaping the environmental policy agenda together, with Schwarzenegger launching the Austrian World Summit in 2020 to promote exchanges on measures to combat climate change. After the event, Neureuther invited his followers on Instagram to share his special moment with Arnold and finally published photos with tennis legend Dominic Thiem and motorsport athlete Nico Rosberg. In one of his posts, Neureuther thanked Schwarzenegger, who supported him with inspiring words. Former football professional Thomas Müller didn't take long to comment on Neureuther's post with the iconic quote "Hasta la vista, Baby" from "Terminator".

Environmental ambassador with passion

Neureuther's passion for the mountains and nature is what drives her. This led to him being appointed by the United Nations as UN Ambassador for Clean Mountains and Glaciers. This role allows him to raise awareness about protecting delicate mountain and glacial ecosystems. “I want to give something back to the mountains by protecting them from pollution,” emphasizes Neureuther, who has also launched initiatives such as “Nature Heroes” to raise awareness among young people about environmental protection.

With his foundation “Felix Neureuther Foundation”, which was founded in 2020, he aims to inspire children and young people and instill in them a love of movement. The project “Move smart!” has already reached over 130,000 children and promotes their social responsibility and sporting activities. In addition, Neureuther has the environmental program “Healthy Earth. Healthy Children.” initiated, which sheds light on the connection between climate change and children's health.

A look forward

Neureuther is not only an ambassador for environmental and climate protection, but also a sought-after sports expert and author. His books, including the IXI children's book series, “Our Alps” and “The Heritage of the Alps,” demonstrate his commitment to combining education and nature conservation. In autumn 2025 he will publish his new book “The Water of the Alps” together with National Geographic.

With a wide range of projects, documentaries for ARD and his role as a winter sports expert, Felix Neureuther remains an important player in the connection between sport and environmental awareness. His plan to bring science, politics and society together is a groundbreaking step towards creating a healthier and more sustainable future.

The challenges are great, but Neureuther is fully committed to environmental protection. Whether in cleaning campaigns or in public relations – he is committed to ensuring that future generations can also live in a clean Alpine scene.
