Tobias Lexhaller: Puchheim's new mayoral candidate is non-party!

A breath of fresh air is blowing in Puchheim: Tobias Lexhaller was recently nominated as a candidate for mayor by the Independent Citizens of Puchheim (ubp). The ceremonial assembly meeting took place in the cozy Puchheimer Bürgerstuben, where Lexhaller was elected unanimously - with 25 votes in favor, no votes against or abstentions. In doing so, he makes clear his appearance as a non-party candidate who is supported by two voters' associations: the ubp and Together for Puchheim (GFP). Mercury reports about it.

Tobias Lexhaller, the 56-year-old entrepreneur who has lived in Puchheim for fourteen years, would like to be the successor to Norbert Seidl (SPD). He has announced that he will no longer run for office. Lexhaller, born in Ichenhausen, is married and has three daughters. After graduating from high school, he completed officer training and studied electrical/communications engineering at the Bundeswehr University. During his time as an officer in the air transport squadron in Penzing and later as a management consultant, he gained valuable experience that he would now like to bring into his political work. The Süddeutsche Zeitung informs about his career.

Political agenda

Lexhaller has clear ideas about his future role as mayor. He wants to quickly advance the areas of business, finance, housing and construction and sees demographic change as a medium-term challenge. His vision is a city that is equally attractive to families and seniors. He also wants to design mobility and electricity and heat supply in a future-oriented manner and not lose sight of issues such as climate protection and disaster prevention. Cohesion between generations and nationalities is also important to him and should be actively promoted.

Another concern of Lexhaller is to make the city sustainable and modern. This means that he primarily wants to generate more trade tax revenue and thus build a healthy economic structure. Lexhaller also did voluntary work, including on the board of the community foundation for the city and district of Fürstenfeldbruck, where he maintained contacts with ubp city councilors. A remarkable step that Lexhaller took a year ago: he canceled his membership in the citizen energy cooperative “Sonnensegler” due to internal differences. As he already emphasized, he plans to work with all democratic factions and build bridges.

The upcoming local elections

The local elections are just around the corner, and Lexhaller is running as a non-party candidate, in the spirit of open, modern city leadership. According to that State Ministry of the Interior The seats in the local council will be distributed according to the Sainte-Laguë/Schepers method, which is intended to ensure fair and equitable representation. In the last election, a total of 20 municipal council seats were awarded in an example municipality with 7,000 residents, which illustrates how important a strategic election campaign and high voter participation are.

Lexhaller has all the cards in hand to lead Puchheim into an exciting future. It remains to be seen whether he will manage to convince citizens of his vision. One thing is certain: the election campaign will be exciting and will provide plenty of material for discussions and new ideas.
