Serious accident in Wasserburg: father and daughter seriously injured!
Yesterday evening, June 6, 2025, there was a serious accident at around 5:55 p.m. at the intersection of the foothills of the B304 and the state road 2092 in Wasserburg am Inn. A 26-year-old driver of a VW Golf wanted to turn left onto the state road when a 51-year-old Vespa driver coming from the left collided with him. Both people involved suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including the Vespa driver's 16-year-old daughter, who was riding as a pillion passenger. The emergency services had their hands full, as two ambulances, two emergency medical vehicles and even a rescue helicopter were called to the scene of the accident to take the injured to surrounding hospitals bgland24 reported.
Fortunately, the VW driver and his passenger were uninjured, while the total damage from the accident is estimated at around 15,000 euros. The Wasserburg fire department and the Penzing fire department were on site with around 20 personnel to deal with the situation and clear the scene of the accident. The Wasserburg am Inn police took over the accident investigation and ensured that the St2092 could be reopened to traffic as quickly as possible.
Alerting and emergency services
As is already known from a previous incident on the B304, which took place around 3:30 p.m. on the same day, several accidents with several injuries also occurred there. Two rescue helicopters were deployed here, and eight ambulances and numerous emergency doctors were available. There were also high-ranking emergency services at the scene of the accident, including district fire chief Marcus Huber and district fire inspector Stephan Hangl, who monitored the situation on site, as wasserburger-stimme reports.
The frequency of such accidents raises questions about road safety and shows the importance of constant monitoring and improvement of road infrastructure. The traffic accident statistics, as carried out by destatis, provide important data that not only records the causes of accidents, but also documents the number of people involved and the respective vehicle types. These statistics help to develop future measures to improve road safety and launch targeted prevention campaigns.
Road education and road safety remain high on the agenda of the relevant authorities, especially after recent incidents, which represent a great burden for both those affected and emergency services. We hope that the injured people will recover soon and appeal to all road users to always drive carefully and responsibly.
