Vienna's Christmas markets 2025: A festival for all the senses begins!
It's now slowly entering the contemplative time in Vienna - the anticipation for the Christmas markets is getting bigger and bigger. This year the city offers a variety of festive markets that have something for every taste. Discussions about the exact opening times are already in full swing. Particularly noteworthy is the Christmas market in Schönbrunn Palace Park, which has been open since November 2nd this year and will bring joy until January 6th.
Visitors can look forward to a long season of 62 days during which over 90 craft stalls offer their wares. New this year are exciting attractions such as a straw maze and a nativity scene designed by artist Manfred Waba. For those with a sweet tooth, there is also a Lindt adventure world on 300 m², which will delight sweets connoisseurs. And from now on you can also marvel at the “Imperial Lights” light garden, which is open daily from 4:30 p.m. - tickets for this start at 22 euros for adults.
The other Christmas markets in Vienna
The Christmas village on Stephansplatz, which will open its doors on November 8th, also contributes to the festive atmosphere in Vienna. Other Advent markets, including the popular Christmas market on Rathausplatz as well as the markets on Spittelberg and in Freyung, all start on November 14th. If you want to marvel at the enchanting lights and stalls in the Prater, you shouldn't miss the winter market at Riesenradplatz, which opens on November 21st.

The Advent magic event in the Klimtvilla on Advent Sundays, which starts on November 30th and offers visitors a drink included for an entry fee of 10 euros, will also be a special experience for young and old.
Innovations and traditional flair
For the gourmets among the Christmas market visitors, the Art Advent at Karlsplatz from November 21st not only offers organically certified gastronomy, but also a newly designed light show that bathes the evening in atmospheric light. Unfortunately, the Christmas village between the Art and Natural History Museums is taking a break due to construction work, but the “Winter Stories” market on Schwarzenbergplatz will celebrate its premiere on November 13th.
With this variety of offers, the anticipation of the Advent highlight in Vienna is not only great - the city invites you to enjoy the contemplative time to the fullest.
